Brief Role Description
This position is Career Level 17P and reports to Jaymin Mehta, located in Reston, VA, with a Role Classification of Hybrid.

Role Summary
The Data and Business Intelligence Scholar will support the Data & BI team in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across Volkswagen Group of America. This role involves working with certified data repositories and BI tools to extract, analyze, and visualize data. The Scholar will contribute to dashboard development, tool administration, and process improvement initiatives while learning to transform complex data into meaningful insights for business users.
Enrolled students (or graduates of a bachelor's degree program with the start of a master's degree program as soon as possible) as well as students who complete a work experience phase at the company in the context of their academic or educational program.
• Year Long Program Start Date (non-negotiable): August 10, 2026
• Part-time during school year, full- time during school breaks
• Program Duration: August 10, 2026– August 7, 2027

Responsibilities within this Role
• Design, develop, test, and deploy BI solutions based on business requirements.
• Extract and analyze data from certified repositories such as the enterprise data warehouse and other operational systems.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations using tools like Business Objects, SAS, and Tableau.
• Support and troubleshoot BI tools, including software upgrades and maintenance.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and the development of best practices for BI systems.
• Collaborate with business users to understand data needs and deliver customized BI solutions.
• Conduct user training and knowledge transfer sessions on BI tools and dashboards.
Qualification requirements
Qualifications
• Rising sophomore, junior or senior
• Strong GPA
• Strong preference for Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems or related degree
• Curiosity and passion for emerging technologies and data-driven innovation.
Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, or SAS.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
