Brief Role Description

 

This position is Career Level 19P located in Reston, VA, with a Role Classification of Hybrid.

Role Summary

 

The Insurance Business Analysis Specialist will work cross-functionally across the organization in order to define and monitor KPIs to measure VWFS Protection Services performance against its volume and financial objectives for its Ancillary Product programs.

 

To do so, the Specialist will research, analyze data, build and maintain sales data models, forecasting and planning tools, and prepare reports to deliver insight and make recommendations in the areas of insurance, reinsurance and dealer service programs.

Role Responsibilities within this Role

 

Main responsibility – 40% of time spent

 

Planning and forecasting: conduct monthly sales closes based on vehicle and contract sales, forecast annual and multi-year sales and contract penetration development. Work closely with Controlling functions to establish joint financial forecasting.

 

Analyze actuals vs. plan, analyze root causes and deliver strategic recommendations.

 

Support the preparation of annual budgets in collaboration with Controlling functions.

 

Additional responsibilities – 35% of time

 

Data Management: ensure efficient data management, including quality audits and vendor oversight related to delivery of all transactional data. Act as the Subject Matter Expert, actively sharing insights company-wide, and responding to data-related questions. Manage to a clear separation of transactionally required data changes vs pure data quality.

 

Additional responsibilities – 25% of time

 

Portfolio Analytics: act as the Subject Matter Expert for contract portfolio analysis (sales mix, pricing elasticities, dealer-specific trends and analysis, transactional statistics (cancellations, run-off, transfers etc.), regional, national, brand-specific or aggregate.

Qualification requirements

 

5+ years of Automotive Financial Services and/or Insurance (P&C)

 

Required Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Marketing or another Business-related field. 
  • High School diploma with a Minimum of 10 yrs relevant insurance experience - if no bachelor’s degree.

 

Desired Education:

 

MBA, Finance / Controlling Certifications

 

General Skills:

 

  • Analytical thinking
  • Data expertise and numerical precision
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to ensure detailed accuracy in the broader strategical context

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Deep understanding of Automotive F&I Sales KPI
  • Deep understanding of Automotive P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
  • Experience in Financial Services business modelling / Sales and P&L forecasting
  • Strong presentation skills, aggregating accurate plans into strategic recommendations
  • Expert skills in MS Office suite

 

Desired Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of automotive F&I products including service contracts, GAP insurance, vehicle protection products.
  • Advanced skills in Tableau, Business Objects, Power BI

 

Work Flexibility:

 

5-10% Travel
