Brief Role Description

Ensure the supply of the services and products required for the operation of the business areas of the Volkswagen Group's financial companies in the North American Region (NAR) in the committed time, with the required quality, negotiating the best commercial conditions and at the optimal possible cost with the suppliers with whom it has direct contact, in accordance with the Volkswagen Group's Purchasing guidelines and policies. 

Possible Tasks within this Role

• Develop and implement the regional sourcing strategy for the procurement categories under its responsibility (e.g. general services, consulting, building management, office equipment, information technology and marketing services) for the Volkswagen Group's financial companies in the North American Region (NAR); through the analysis of the planning of purchasing requirements of the NAR business areas and the current local contracts in each of the countries and their validity. 
  • Know and understand the legal, regulatory, tax and commercial framework of the markets of Canada, the United States and Mexico, in order to support the business, Legal, Risk and Tax areas of the three NAR markets in the development of specifications and service requirements (RFPs, Briefs, Lastenheft, etc.) acting as the first line of defense to reduce risks in the selection and contracting of suppliers. 
  • Develop, manage and update the supplier registry of the North American Region (NAR), based on the understanding of the needs of the internal areas of the financial companies of the NAR and the knowledge of the markets of Canada, the United States and Mexico. 
  • Request and coordinate with the business areas of the financial companies of the NAR the process of reviewing the technical proposals submitted by the suppliers, based on the specifications stipulated in the bidding documents (RFP, Brief, etc.), in order to ensure the acquisition of services and products with the quality and scope requested. 
  • Present to the Management and the Local and International Purchasing Committees (North America Region – NAR and/or Volkswagen AG Headquarters), the proposal for the award decision of the bidding processes of the NAR financial companies greater than 100,000 and 250,000 Euros 
  • Contact the collaborators of the various internal departments of the NAR's financial companies; through work/feedback sessions and customer service surveys, with the aim of knowing their experience with internal customer service and generating improvement plans for both the management of purchasing processes and internal customer service.  

Qualification requirements

• Licenciatura en negocios, comercio internacional o equivalente / Ingeniería Industrial
• Deseable: Maestría-MBA o Certificación como profesional de compras o abastecimiento
• Indispensable nivel de inglés avanzado (C1)
• 5 años o más en funciones de compras, incluyendo experiencia negociando términos comerciales y precios con proveedores internacionales.
• 3-5 años de experiencia en adquisiciones con un enfoque regional, consolidando requerimientos de varias plantas o empresas de distintos países (USA/Canadá).
• Competencias como negociación, comunicación, liderazgo, toma de decisiones
