Brief Role Description

The Sr. Process Engineer is the lead workflow automation developing resource for Volkswagen Financial Services. This role will lead the implementation of workflow solutions with a combination of process standardization, process automation through the analysis, creation, design and development of robots configured with authorized tools to maximize efficiency in business processes, as well as provide support and maintenance to active automations developed and delivered to the business.

This role is a visionary for early research and analysis of business models and technological tools to ensure BPO has the right automation strategy for the company, as well as create a vision of efficient development of workflow automation through teamwork with all areas of the organization and maintain a disruptive thinking that brings value to the company. The process engineer will Identify and implement process improvements with the use of robotics, machine learning and AI tools to maximize the ability to reduce the cost of doing business, increase quality and foster bridges toward new business opportunities. The Sr. Process Engineer will also assist BPO management with the adoption of process optimization framework and lean thinking behaviors in back-office departments across the organization. This role will work closely with the Business Process Engineers and Lean Portfolio Analyst to establish proactive forecasting of financial savings and cost impacts.

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Workflow automation development including the coding, testing and implementation of workflow automation leveraging robotics, LLMs and OCR technology mainly within the Process UiPath technology platform
  • Attend incidents and/or changes of the robots that have been deployed to the Business areas as part of the Robot support and maintenance process defined in the QA, Testing & Automation area manual as Warranty period, in line with the service levels defined by IT to guarantee the operation of the automated processes
  • Propose and implement quality assurance (QA) tools in the configuration of the automation code through checkpoints and best practices of RPA development to avoid and/or mitigate possible errors in the execution by the Business areas ensuring the quality of the automation process
  • Produce the supporting documentation of the automated process flow configuration design according to the QA, Testing & Automation area guidelines and document policy to share and train the business users responsible for these automated processes to understand the workflow automation configuration and serve as a guide for execution.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify process inefficiencies, performance gaps, and underlying issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand, document, and validate workflows, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Analyze processes end to end from a value stream perspective.
  • Mentoring the Business Process Engineers, Internal Departments and leadership on best practices
  • Working with the IT and the Business departments to adopt automation across the organization.
  • Enhance and maintain BPO team dashboards leveraging UiPath Insights and Power BI and oversee administration of the BPO SharePoint site.

Qualification requirements

Education

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science mathematics or information systems

Desired:

  • UiPath Certification or relevant experience
  • Master’s in business administration or other

Experience:

Minimum Required:

  • 7 – 10 years working with or leading Continuous Improvement initiatives or relevant experience  
  • 3 + years of programming (including scripting /coding) experience, SQL and relational databases, and application development
  • 5 + years evaluating processes to optimize production capability and reviewing technical environments to meet business needs.
  • 4 + years of experience with Process Analysis, Design, and Implementation, Business and Technical requirements, Problem-Solving, and System(s) Testing, including UAT and Bug fixes

Skills:

Minimum Required:

  • Software development, testing and implementation
  • Knowledge of SAP integrations
  • Ability to understand and document workflows.
  • Proficient in process diagram interpretation and development.
  • Ideally have Developer certifications. Architecture in RPA, UX/UI.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in both agile and traditional project development methodologies.
  • Communication skills both written and verbal (English).
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills; ability to create an open environment in which conflicts over project priorities, scope and requirements decisions can be aired and resolved objectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking: use of logic and reason, creative and strategic.
  • Integration: bringing people, processes or systems together.
  • Ability to present technical details to collaborators from other business areas.
  • Performance oriented
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project).
  • Experience with MS Office 365 is a plus

Specialized Skills:

  • 3+ years experience in software development and strong programming skills. 
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in RPA application design and development. 
  • 3+ years experience and technical knowledge of automation tools: UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, WorkFusion, win automation, among others. 
  • High experience in the development of robots with the UiPath tool mainly 
  • 5+ years experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL) 
  • 2-3 years process modeling/mapping experience
  • 2-3 years experience in any of the programming languages like C/C++, Python, VB Script, Ruby, Java, JS, .Net

Preferred:

  • Experience with LLM (Large, Language Model)
  • Knowledge about UiPath Agents, Maestro Orchestration
  • Process modeling with IBM Blueworks Live
  • UiPath RPA Certification
  • Experience with chat bot development
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

 

Salary range is dependent on factors such as industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications.  
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and internal compensation practices.
