The role:

We are looking for a Vehicle Motion Component Development Project Engineer to join our headquarters at Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO). You will hierarchically report to e Head of Vehicle Motion & Energy Management.

You will be responsible for coordinating the activities aimed at the PEP definition of Vehicle Motion component development in respect of budget, timing, technical requirement, and validation planning.

• Coordinate the development of Vehicle Motion / Powertrain components and systems throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

• Lead cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project targets are achieved in terms of quality, cost, timing, and performance.

• Manage Product Development Process (PEP) activities, ensuring compliance with project milestones and company standards.

• Monitor and control project timing, engineering releases, and component delivery plans.

• Define and track system budgets, investments, component costs, weight targets, and expenditure.

• Plan and coordinate validation activities, including FMEA, DVP, bench testing, and vehicle-level testing.

• Manage resource allocation and prioritization across multiple projects and vehicle programs.

• Drive issue resolution and change management activities, ensuring timely closure of technical concerns.

• Oversee BOM management, cost optimization initiatives, and support vehicle build and development phases.

• Prepare project status reports and present progress, risks, costs, and technical updates to management and key stakeholders.

 

About you

  • Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 4/5 years of experience in automotive OEM
  • Project management experience in high-performance teams
  • Office package excellent knowledge
  • Matlab knowledge as a plus
  • Technical knowledge & experience of engine component development from concept through to production covering design, test & production.
  • Experience of leading and delivering multiple large (multi million euros budget) engine projects
  • Systems design and development knowledge
  • Experience in component release management and problem solving
  • Fluent English. Italian and German will be considered a plus
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a high level of self-motivation to deliver excellence
  • An engaging mind, open to new problems outside their normal comfort zone.
  • A willingness to engage in debate and discussion.
