We are looking for a Paintshop Process Engineer to join our headquarters at Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO), you will hierarchically report to the Head of Paintshop and functionally to the Paintshop Process Coordinator. 

 

You will develop the car painting process and paint development leading from concept to production.

 

 You will be responsible for:

  • The processes to develop in the Paintshop:
    • Primer, top coat and auxiliary materials management,
    • Introduction of new substrate materials (plastics, CFRP),
    • Continuous alignment with Audi specialists and materials/raw‑parts suppliers (BiW & hang‑ons).
  • Definition of new materials and new processes in alignment with Audi specifications
  • Definition of reworks of new materials and processes in alignment with Audi specifications
  • Evaluate check and plausibility of offers from paint material supplier
  • Technical and safety data sheet management
  • Test campaign management
  • Cost estimation (materials and cycle time)
  • Plan and organize the commissioning activities related to the project and ensure the achievement of the Project Milestones
  • Ensure for the new contents the prototype and the pre-series development to the SOP
  • RDA management for the topics related to the job role (from the insertion to the order delivery)
  • BiW & Hang-ons painting process insurance (e.g. daily measurement painting results)
  • Support training and documentation management.
  • Drive cost‑saving initiatives and ensure alignment on topcoat topics.
  • Manage meetings with suppliers/customers and provide minutes.
  • Report development progress.
  • Technical meeting participation (e.g. Simultaneous Engineering Teams - SET)

 

About you 

  • University degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, materials)
  • At least 5 years of experience in Color development, top coat materials, end processes knowledge, in Automotive Ind.
  • Office package knowledge
  • English and Italian knowledge, German will be considered a plus
