We are looking for an Aerodynamics Surface Designer to join our headquarters at Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO), reporting directly to the Head of Aerodynamics Aeroacoustic, Vehicle Thermal Development.
You will be responsible to create CAD geometries for analysis in CFD/Wind Tunnel/Track.
You will:
- Work closely with the aerodynamicists to prepare high quality CAD models for CFD, wind tunnel and track tests:
- Support aerodynamics development process checking and comparing surfaces coming from designers
- Support aerodynamics development generating new surfaces under the guidance of aerodynamics performance engineers
- Support Benchmark actvitities with preparation of high quality cad of scanned 3D vehicles
- Liaise with the Protoshop teams to support the preparation and assembly of prototype model components, and help to ensure that the wind tunnel models is accurate and of high quality.
- Develop workflow automation tools.
- Interface with suppliers for the manifacturing of 3d models
- Take ownership of CAD model quality and methodology, working with the team to continually improve our processes in design, in manufacture, in the protoshop and in the wind tunnel.
- Contribute to collaborative discussions and efforts to improve the entire design process.
About you
- High School diploma in STEM Based subject or Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering degree
- At least 5 years of experience in CAD Desing and Model Building, preferably in automotive companies
- Catia V5
- System PLM Connect: basic user, for data checks and definition of installation solutions
- Good technical drawing knowledge
- Experience in installation and series mounting issues
- Knowledge of 3d printing techniques
- Programming Skills will be preferred
- English knowledge, German will be considered a plus
- Autonomy in planning and prioritizing tasks.
