Role Summary:

  • The role is the driving force behind the development of the ACA+ functionality from start of the project until the milestone „end of production“ and thus the central contact person throughout the whole product development process. The role is responsible for the interdisciplinary concept design, definition and specification during the beginning of the project as well as for the implementation, testing and approval of the intended functionality during the further procedure.

Possible Tasks within this Role

Main responsibility

Concept Design and Definition of the Functionality (20%)

  • Transferring the needs of marketing and sales department into technical descriptions
  • Identifying the relevant stakeholder for realizing the intended functionality
  • Responsible for setting up a functional team for coordinating the further development
  • Responsible for requirements clarification with other stakeholder (like other components or functionalities) and documentation in due form
  • Ensuring the consideration of the functionality within the electrics/electronics architecture as well as the whole car architecture
  • Controlling of the creation and implementation of functional architectures, safety analysis, safety concepts and test concepts

 

Implementation / realization (40%)

  • Responsible for setting up a project plan including a feature release plan considering the different levels of maturity of the ACA+ functionality as well as the levels of maturity of all relevant partner ECUs and partner functionalities
  • In charge of monitoring the implementation and realization in close contact to all relevant partner ECUs and partner functionalities
  • Organizing of regular functional team meetings for coming to an agreement between all involved parties with respect to functional contents and schedule
  • Controlling and coordination of the functional team by regular status meetings according to the project plan
  • Responsible for continuous reports of level of maturity
  • Responsible for reaching predefined milestones (according to project plan) and escalation in the case of non-achievement

 

Testing (30%)

  • Definition of measurement setup and cars together with involved parties
  • Responsible for the adequate definition of test scope, test cases, test locations and scenarios considering the specific needs of the functionality and the current level of maturity (e.g. definition of tests on module, component or system level)
  • Organization of adequate test drives according to the SW release plan
  • Ensuring the compliance of the intended functionality with all functional and non-functional requirements

 

Approval (10%)

  • In charge of collecting all relevant test reports
  • In charge of collecting the minor approvals of all involved components and functionalities
  • Responsible for giving an approval recommendation to line manager 

Qualification requirements

Qualifications:
 

  • 7 - 10 years of work experience

 

Education-Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer science or comparable)

 

Education-Desired:

  • Master’s or PhD in in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer science or comparable)

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Volkswagen Group/ AUDI AG internal IT processes, infrastructure and Service/ Support structure
  • Wide and reliable network within AUDI AG and the Volkswagen Group
  • Excellent planning and organization, project management and time management skills
  • Project management (desirable in innovative technology environment and agile methods)
  • Effective analytical and conceptual skills to derive adequate solutions for technical problems

  • Excellent knowledge of VW Group internal softwares like IDEX, ODIS, AVx, System 42, DOORS etc
  • Strong English language and German language skills (written and spoken)

 

Work Flexibility:

Compensation Data

In the Silicon Valley, the salary range for this role will be $135,600 - $183,100, depending on education and years of relevant experience.

Salary is determined by geographical location and adjusted accordingly. Other benefits for this position include:
