Brief Role Description

1. Supplier Launch & Project Management
Responsible for managing supplier industrialization activities for purchased parts during new product launches. The role ensures alignment and commitment of project milestones, tracks project progress, and monitors industrialization readiness in accordance with VDA maturity management standards (QPNi). Close collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders is required to ensure on-time achievement of project targets and successful SOP readiness.

2. Manufacturing Readiness & Capacity Assurance
Supports and challenges suppliers during the early planning and industrialization phases to ensure robust manufacturing concepts, adequate production capacities, and process readiness for ramp-up. The position includes conducting on-site capacity assessments, monitoring manufacturing progress, and identifying risks related to equipment, tooling, and production processes.

3. Tooling & Process Engineering Support
Accompanies the development and validation of production tooling and equipment from the early project phase through industrialization. The role ensures manufacturability, process capability, and technical feasibility of components by performing tooling reviews, readiness assessments, and on-site inspections at toolmakers and supplier facilities.

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Coordinate and track supplier industrialization schedules and milestone plans.Monitor project maturity according to the VDA Maturity Management Process (QPNi).
  • Lead project management activities for supplier-owned purchased parts.
  • Conduct supplier capacity assessments and audits on-site.
  • Support tooling and equipment design reviews to ensure manufacturability.
  • Verify manufacturing readiness and industrialization progress at supplier locations.
  • Perform production status reviews at toolmakers and suppliers.
  • Identify project risks and define mitigation actions together with suppliers.
  • Ensure timely achievement of ramp-up and production readiness targets.

Qualification requirements

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in supplier management, industrialization, project management, or manufacturing engineering within the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of VDA Maturity Management processes (QPNi).
  • Understanding of product launch and ramp-up management processes.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Volkswagen Group systems, especially TEVON, CoRE, and Lion.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling technologies, particularly:
    • Injection Molding
    • Stamping and Forming
    • Welding Processes
  • Experience with tooling development, manufacturing equipment, and production capacity planning.

Personal Competencies

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
