YOUR TEAM
To support our AppStore team, we are currently looking for a working student. In your role you get first-hand experience in Infotainment and will be an integral part of the team that works on developing the App Store for the whole VW Group.
Find the apps you like, integrated into your vehicle. Enjoy them seamlessly inside and outside of the car. Import destination addresses from your calendar, continue the podcast you started at home or listen to your favorite couch playlist while driving. We are building a highly connected software platform that enables deep integration of infotainment applications and innovative connected body functions to create a holistic vehicle experience for our customers. This is what we call One Infotainment.
Be curious about what we already have in our pocket and bring also your own ideas into life.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support the development of modern fullstack features across frontend (React/Next.js) and backend services (TypeScript/Node.js)
- Implement and extend REST APIs and microservices, including integration with internal platforms and data sources
- Develop responsive, component-based web interfaces using modern tools and design systems
- Analyze and resolve issues across the entire stack — from UI defects to backend logic and database performance
- Support MVP and POC development for internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to technical specifications, architectural concepts, and documentation
- Collaborate with frontend, backend, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions
WHO YOU ARE
- Enrolled student in computer science, software engineering, IT, or a comparable field
- First hands-on experience in both frontend and backend development (e.g., TypeScript, React, Node.js)
- Understanding of REST APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and modern web technologies
- Curiosity for cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and agile software development
- Structured, reliable, motivated to learn, and passionate about modern fullstack engineering
NICE TO KNOW
- Remote work options within Germany
- Duration: 6 months (with the option to extend up to two years)
- 20 hours/week, up to 35 hours/week during the semester break
- Salary: 17,80€/hour
