YOUR TEAM
To support our OBAN (Observability & Analysis Tools) team, we are currently looking for an intern or a working student. In your role you get first-hand experience in Machine Learning and AI in modern cloud and backend environments and will be an integral part of a shared service team that develops and operates observability and analysis solutions across the CARIAD organization.
OBAN is responsible for system observability, fault analysis, and performance monitoring for complex Connected Car and cloud platforms. Our mission is to provide maximum transparency and efficiency in highly distributed system landscapes by leveraging modern open-source technologies and AI-based approaches.
As part of the team, you will support the development and evaluation of AI‑based approaches for observability, monitoring, and AIOps in modern cloud and backend systems. You will work on real-world use cases, experiment with open‑source tools, and help improve data analysis and automation in an operational environment
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and optimize prompts for AIOps agents to enable intelligent interaction with system and monitoring data
- Design and implement automated test strategies for AI-based and AIOps solutions
- Research and evaluate open-source tools for data correlation, especially for OpenTelemetry (OTEL)-based monitoring data
- Set up, integrate, and configure analysis and observability tools within an existing infrastructure
- Validate selected tools in an operational context and derive recommendations to improve monitoring and fault diagnosis
WHO YOU ARE
- Enrolled student in Machine Learning, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a comparable field with a strong ML/AI focus
- First hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and ideally with LLMs or generative models
- Programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages
- Interest in monitoring and observability technologies, such as OpenTelemetry, and modern backend architectures
- Independent, structured working style and strong team skills
