YOUR TEAM
The Group ConMod team is responsible for key areas of software design activities for the future Group ConMod microcontroller (uC) software stack. In close collaboration with various technical teams, the vision, architecture, design, and implementation of the next embedded software stack for connectivity solutions used across the Volkswagen Group are developed here. The team enjoys exploring new territory, challenging existing approaches, and driving innovative solutions forward. As part of CARIAD’s Senior Technical Team, the department also works closely with various stakeholders across the technical units of the Volkswagen Group.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Development and validation of modern ECU architectures for the next generation of Connectivity Modules (ConMods)
- Design, specification, and implementation of hardware components in the MQB and PPE environment
- Collaboration with software, system, and integration teams to develop highly integrated connectivity solutions
- Support of the complete hardware development lifecycle from concept phase to series production readiness
- Execution of hardware design, simulation, validation, and integration into complex overall architectures
- Analysis of technical requirements and derivation of corresponding hardware design decisions
- Ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and timing targets
- Coordination with suppliers, internal departments, and the Volkswagen Group environment
- Evaluation and integration of new technologies into existing platform architectures
- Analysis of failure patterns on vehicle and component level
- Support of root cause analysis and development of sustainable technical solutions
- Contribution to the stability, performance, and future viability of group-wide connectivity platforms
WHO YOU ARE
- Successfully completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a comparable field
- Solid experience in electronics/hardware development within automotive or embedded environments
- Ideally experience with ECUs or connectivity systems
- Knowledge of requirements and processes in series development projects
- Strong understanding of electronic circuits and microcontroller architectures
- Experience with relevant bus systems such as CAN and Ethernet
- Proficient in common development and simulation tools
- Knowledge of automotive standards, norms, and development processes is an advantage
- Good understanding of the interaction between hardware, software, and system architectures
- Structured, analytical, and self-driven working style
- Ability to coordinate complex topics across interdisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and assertiveness skills
- High quality standards and solution-oriented mindset
- Fluent German and English language skills
- Strong motivation to develop innovative solutions in the field of automotive connectivity
