YOUR TEAM

In the UX team at CARIAD, we build mobility services in a multifaceted environment, revolving around the Volkswagen brands. These services are accessed through multiple touchpoints in a variety of car software platforms. We work hard so that our users can stay engaged on their journey through our products and reach their destinations quickly and enjoyably. This is why we design products across the entire lifecycle - from the very first contact to, oftentimes, a life-long relationship with Volkswagen brands.

We are currently looking for a Working Student - UX Research & Prototyping (f/m/d) to join our team. In your role you will help to base all product decisions on insights from our most important stakeholder: the user. You will support our UX research experts and our UX prototyping team with conducting studies using various methods, such as user interviews, focus groups, online surveys, or simulator studies to reveal user insights and uncover actual user needs. In interdisciplinary product teams, you will then help us to transform the research results into action.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Work closely with a team of designers, researchers, and developers to conduct user studies and uncover user needs for a variety of mobility related products
  • Prepare and conduct usability tests on various frontends, including the vehicle infotainment system
  • Visualize the results comprehensibly and conduct workshops to integrate the research findings into our products
  • Organize user testing events for various product teams in collaboration with external service providers
  • Support the team with the development and realization of prototypes (digital and physical)

WHO YOU ARE

  • Enrolled student in the area of Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Communication Science, Media Science, Computer Science or similar
  • Passionate about UX and digital products and a strong interest in various UX research and prototyping methods
  • Independent way of working, self-organized and talented in craftsmanship
  • Strong interviewing and communication skills, ideally supported by first handson experience in conducting interviews, you already analyzed and visualized data, using e.g. R, SPSS, Excel, or Tableau
  • First experiences with visual design using Figma, create videos using After Effects, Media Encoder, or Editing Software, and create/editing sound
  • Ideally experience with visual programming (e.g. Node-red, pure data, vvvv,...), or web technologies (JavaScript, Angular,...), physical computing (Arduino, ESP32, soldering, ...)
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken

At CARIAD, we embrace individuality and diversity because we believe our differences make us stronger. We actively seek to build teams with a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute. If you need assistance with your application due to a disability, please reach out to us at careers@cariad.technology - we are happy to support you.
