YOUR TEAM
We offer you an exciting opportunity for your master thesis in our charging system & functions development team in the field of V2G service functions. For the following topic you get the responsibility: developing the API integration for the Bi-CCS project for the realization of a Bidirectional smart charging proof-of-concept. The aim of this master thesis is developing the communication and protocol layer of the Smart Grid Architecture Model (SGAM) system for V2G services.
In your role you get first-hand experience in API integration coding and will be an integral part of the team that works on the Bi-CCS project (https://bi-ccs.de/biccs.html) for the realization of a Bidirectional smart charging proof-of-concept. Your thesis will support the design of the communication system as part of the research project subject to journal publication, and you will also work on its technical implementation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Conduct literature research on smart charging protocols and SGAM systems for communication and component layers development
- Develop code to connect VW and service providers APIs to share required information
- Design and evaluate a system to integrate information into different protocols data formats (OCPP mainly, but also OCPI, OpenADR, OSCP)
- Test your work in a V2G prototype setup at Brandeburg Technische Universität (BTU) in Cottbus
- Get your hands on cutting-edge smart charging infrastructure and algorithms for electric vehicles
WHO YOU ARE
- Enrolled student in Berlin/Brandeburg in the area of Electrical/Electronics – Telecommunication - Software/Computer - Autonomous Systems - Engineering
- Fluent in Python, object-oriented programming
- Familiar with REST APIs concepts
- Self-driven, team-minded, communicative, and eager to publish research work
- Experience in the energy or e-mobility field is a plus
- Experience with Linux embedded systems, Docker, or Optimization models is a plus
NICE TO KNOW
- Remote work options within Germany
- Duration: 6 months
- 35-hour week
