YOUR TEAM
As Internal Occupational Physician and Head of Occupational Health & Safety (f/m/d), you will report directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO). In this role, you will be responsible for providing medical expertise on occupational health matters and for the professional leadership of Occupational Health & Safety at CARIAD. The operational delivery of occupational health services, as well as psychological support services, is provided by external partners. The position primarily focuses on advising on and supporting the implementation of statutory occupational health and safety requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Act as the primary point of contact for the external occupational health provider responsible for the medical care of all employees, managers, and Board members
- Provide professional leadership for occupational safety across all CARIAD locations in Germany, working closely with one internal Occupational Health & Safety specialist and an external service provider
- Advise Executive Management, managers, employee representatives (Works Council), and other stakeholders on occupational health and safety matters that are not covered by the external service provider
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal requirements and Volkswagen Group standards related to occupational health and safety across all German CARIAD locations
- Represent CARIAD as the occupational health and safety expert in interactions with regulatory authorities, statutory accident insurance institutions, and auditors
WHO YOU ARE
- Licensed physician with board certification in Occupational Medicine or an equivalent qualification in Occupational Health.
- Additional qualification as an Occupational Safety Specialist (SiFa) or equivalent
- Further qualifications in health management, business administration, or a related field are an advantage
- Extensive leadership experience in occupational health and safety within large organizations, ideally across multiple locations in Germany
- Proven experience leading and influencing interdisciplinary teams without direct line management responsibility
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with external occupational physicians and occupational safety service providers
- Strong track record of working with regulatory authorities, statutory accident insurance institutions, auditors, Executive Management, and senior leadership teams
- Experience operating successfully in dynamic and transformational business environments
- Strategic mindset combined with strong business acumen
- Excellent consulting and stakeholder management skills at Executive level
- Ability to effectively connect health, safety, HR, and business objectives
- Passion for innovation, including digital health initiatives and modern occupational health and safety programs
