Thesis Topology Optimization of Crash Structures (f/m/d)
Environment
The Volkswagen brand's Bodysystem Advanced Development department works on interdisciplinary pre-development projects and manages strategic innovation topics in body development. Our interdisciplinary team of experts develops the highlights of future vehicle generations in all areas of the body. To do this, we use the latest scientific methods and findings and bring them to series production. When developing future body concepts, occupant protection and lightweight construction are essential design criteria. Methods for optimising structures can play a decisive role here. However, due to the special requirements of crash simulation, conventional methods can only be used to a limited extent, which makes it necessary to develop new approaches. In this exciting environment, we offer you the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary team. The completion of a 3-month internship before the start of the thesis is desired. The thesis can be written either in German or English.
Possible Tasks within this Role
-
Agile Software Development
-
Developing and extending structural optimization methods
-
Setup, execution and evaluation of crash simulations
-
Integrate machine learning methods
