Environment

As part of Volkswagen Group Innovation, the AI & Data Analytics sub-department focuses on the methodology and concept development of digital services for all brands of the Volkswagen Group. Key topics include the generation of multimodal data for testing and training autonomous driving functions. Using generative AI, camera, radar, or lidar data, for example, are generated to enable the creation of rare and contextually consistent scenes. Within these areas of responsibility, we offer you the opportunity to participate in the research and development of intelligent algorithms in a young and interdisciplinary team and to help shape the mobility of tomorrow. If you are aiming for a thesis, the tasks and research questions will be determined together with the professor after confirmation of supervision. A preceding internship would be desirable before starting the thesis.

Possible tasks within this role

  • Development and implementation of concepts as part of your internship or thesis

  • Development of methods for efficient processing of test and training data in the field of generative AI technologies in autonomous driving

  • Gain experience as a Data Scientist while working on highly relevant topics in the automotive industry

Qualification requirements

  • Students of the Departments computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields

  • Very good to good academic performance

  • Good programming skills in PyTorch/TensorFlow and Python

  • Practical experience in the field of Machine Learning (ML) and Computer Vision (CV)

  • Practical experience in algorithm development

  • Experience in applying and training generative AI networks is an advantage

  • Ability to work independently and responsibly on a scientific topic

  • German and/or English Level B2
