Internship AI-based interactive aerodynamic design (f/m/d)
Environment
Internship in the field of AI-based interactive Aerodynamic Design at Volkswagen Group Innovation Wolfsburg. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods are indispensable for evaluating the aerodynamic properties of vehicles. Despite state-of-the-art supercomputers, the computing times required for performing CFD are in the order of several days. For this reason, Group Innovation is currently developing AI/Deep learning methods capable of real-time aerodynamic evaluations. It is required for you to come to the office so a complete remote option is not possible. We would like to have an internship period of at least 6 months.
Possible roles of the role
-
Work in developing and refining Deep Learning models
-
Couple our codebase with a GUI to enable easy model training and evaluation
-
Develop tests and implement automation workflows
-
Support in the evaluation of Deep Learning models
Qualification requirements
-
Student of Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Engineering or a comparable field of study
-
Good to very good academic performance
-
Enjoy programming in Python with hands-on experience using PyTorch
-
Solid understanding of version control, proficiency in using Git/GitHub
-
Comfortable working in a Linux environment and familiar with command-line tools
-
Experience with Bash scripting, Docker, GitHub Actions, writing tests, or setting up automations is a significant advantage
