Volkswagen Group of America’s 10 – week Summer Internship Program targets undergraduate students entering their Junior or Senior years who are eager to acquire practical, real-world experience in the automotive industry. This program is designed for high potential, highly mobile, and self-starter candidates with a strong interest in the automotive industry. Focused on the development of professional and technical competencies as well as on-the-job-training, our Summer Internship Program is an excellent opportunity to explore career choices early on. Program Information:
- 10-week Summer Internship Start Date (non-negotiable): June 1, 2026
- Program Duration: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026

Role Summary
The VWGoA Public Affairs Intern will support the Public Affairs team through research, legislative monitoring, and the development of reports and presentations. This role will assist with advocacy engagement by creating informational materials, contribute to planning and executing high-profile events such as VWGoA’s Future Leaders in Mobility Program, and attend policy and industry networking events.
Possible Tasks within this Role
Role Responsibilities
- Support the Public Affairs team through research, legislative monitoring, and drafting of reports and presentations.
- Assist with advocacy engagement by developing informational materials.
- Contribute to planning and executing high-profile Public Affairs events, including VWGoA’s Future Leaders in Mobility Program.
- Attend policy and industry networking events.
Qualification requirements
Qualifications
- A rising college Junior, Senior or recent graduate
- Strong GPA
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
- Strong preference for Public, Governmental Affairs, and business-related majors.
Skills
- Strong analytical and logical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong writing ability
- Strong verbal skills (articulate and concise).
- Goal and results-oriented; diplomacy and tact.
- Familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
