Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the Temporary Vehicle Electronics Planner position in the Pilot Hall - Production (Kariega)
Brief Role Description
As part of the Pilot Hall Vehicle Electronics team, the incumbent will be responsible to is to timeously evaluate, scope, plan and manage the implementation of special projects, processes and engineering changes points impacting the vehicle electronics
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Plan and coordinate task/deliverables with timing of vehicle electrics/electronics product, engineering and process changes using software application such MS Office to ensure change points are timeously implemented.
- Evaluate and coordinate the vehicle electrics /electronics product, engineering and process changes using Volkswagen group systems to ensure all change points are considered.
- Coordinate and participate in local and group operation team meetings to highlight, escalate and manage tasks/deliverables of vehicle electrics/electronics change points to ensure no delays or critical job stoppers during the implementation phase impacting legal, compliance and buildability of vehicle.
- Support by sourcing relevant technical product information to assist with the implementation of new technologies, process optimizations or interim reworks via development/engineering department to prevent line stoppages, process and product non-conformance.
- Liaise with overseas/group counterparts with regards to buildability, process standards, training, product and quality topics/issues through meetings/business trips to ensure all data/documents/concepts is understood/obtained
Qualification requirements
Diploma or higher in electrical engineering (excluding heavy current) or mechatronics
Experience needed
- Minimum of 3 year experience in managing various projects consisting of timing plans, costing, scoping and coordinating activities/team members.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in vehicle manufacturing or related field with key focus being vehicle electrics/electronics
Essentials
- Ability to apply problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve root cause problems.
- Ability to work autonomously (self-starter), be self-motivated and target/goal orientated
- Ability and willingness to contribute innovative solutions and ideas.
- Ability to assert, coordinate and work collaboratively within and outside pilot hall team structure.
- Able to work well under pressure and make sound decisions.
- Proficient in MS Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and MS Teams
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate coaching / training on various levels.
Added Advantage
- Knowledgeable on the vehicle electric / electronic systems (brakes, airbag, lights etc.)
- intermediate understanding of German Language.
- Project management courses
