Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the VWCV Volume Planning Manager position in NSO VW Commercial Vehicles (Sandton)
Brief Role Description
The primary objective is to develop and manage the strategic long range and operational short term planning on behalf of the NSO VW Commercial Vehicles in collaboration with NFZ, and to achieve market share targets, fulfill production requirements and keep optimal stock levels to ensure working capital targets are met
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Analyse the macro and micro economic conditions affecting the motor industry to steer and align the 10-year market and segment outlook for the VW Commercial Vehicles Brand with VWAG and internal stakeholders
- Develop and align monthly with various stakeholders within VWGA and VWAG 3-year short-range plan for all VW Commercial Vehicles models utilising the internal short-range forecasting model to ensure realignment of market share expectations.
- Develop and manage the 5-year long-range plan in line with the achievement of the strategic objectives considering inputs from Product, Sales and Finance and to achieve the required outcomes.
- Prepare the required presentations for sales planning approval and pre-align with stakeholders within VWAG and VWGA before the final proposal is presented.
- Manage accurate data input for Volkswagen Group Africa into Volkswagen Group Sales Planning systems.
- Prepare and negotiate required production with NFZ and Production to ensure stocking requirements are aligned to sales forecast for the Region.
- Lead volume-planning, supply chain and pricing team, set objectives, and guide to maintain high levels of efficiency, productivity, and motivation.
- Align orders to be loaded into the production systems on a weekly basis and align production quotas to the production requirement and the model mix is as per pre aligned model mix planning.
- Oversee the optimum use of the Volkswagen Group Systems supporting the vehicle planning and ordering functionality (EPL, FPL, IFA, IMF, NADIN, IVA).
- Collaborate with Product Marketing (within SA and SSA) on volume studies to support product innovations by evaluating possible risks and opportunities for new model introductions.
- Manage the monthly sales allocation process to ensure that the national sales team for both SA and SSA is provided with production requirements to enable dealer/ importer ordering aligned to retail and wholesale volume objectives, including the correct model mix and options.
- Manage the run-out and run-in planning of model types and model derivatives to minimize obsolescence and cost.
- Partner with the sales department to plan the stock at optimum levels to meet demand and minimise aged stock.
- Manage the sales mix planning within the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand in conjunction with Sales and Finance to ensure optimize financial return, without impacting demand.
- Manage departmental Budget to support the operational activities and ensure adherence to set limits.
- Manage and co-ordinate the Sales and Stock planning information/presentations for ratification at the relevant forums including NSO Sales meetings, Finance Review, Dealer Council.
- Integration of the sales strategy into the Sales Plan, including the Chance Plan, including product and engine release, new market entries.
- Manage the monthly reporting of the price index and related price positioning for relevant models to relevant forums
- Supervise and develop reporting staff by setting up work-related objectives, appraising performance and behavior, and where necessary, initiating/providing specialist training to maximise the potential of individuals to maintain a high-performance culture and team motivation
