Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the Volume Planning & Forecasting Specialist position in NSO VW Commercial Vehicles (Sandton)
Brief Role Description
To co-ordinate all activities pertaining to sales forecasting by ensuring short-range and long-range forecasting is done timeously, and to ensure that deadlines are met for uploading information to NFZ, NSO and the rest of the company.
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Create and share short and medium term forecast via the internal forecasting model to keep all teams informed.
- Determine and maintain Rental and Government requirements through the monthly forecasting process to ensure that accurate data is supplied.
- Report sales performance to key stakeholders.
- Ensure that vehicle ordering is in line with the sales forecast for imported vehicles for accuracy.
- Input actual and forecast sales data into the MPL system and update NFZ.
- Conduct volume scenarios for new product using a specific format in excel to evaluate possible risks and opportunities for new model introductions.
- Prepare presentations for volume planning meetings (Market orientation, Sales forecast) to ensure that our plans are presented in a professional manner.
- Manage FBU volume planning and order process for orders to be loaded in Nadin to ensure correct volumes and model mixes.
- Prepare volume studies for Pre-PPM / PPM product forums using a specific format in Excel to ensure risks and opportunities of models’ introductions are clearly visible.
- Provide stock information in Powerpoint for incentive pricing meetings to identify slow moving stock.
- Oversee the monthly dealer allocation process at national level using a specific format in Excel to ensure that the order bank is sufficient for production.
- Manage run-out and run-in planning of model types and model derivatives to minimise obsolescence and cost.
- Manage model mix planning to ensure optimal financial return, without impacting on demand.
- Negotiate production requirements for imported models via mails and discuss after our internal monthly forecasting cycle to ensure optimal supply.
- Manage the operation of all group systems supporting the vehicle planning and ordering functionality (EPL / MPL / Nadin), ensuring that there is accurate data in the system at all times for component ordering.
- Monthly stock position actualisation and forecasting of Yard & Bond, Dealer and in transit stock for liquidity planning using various assumptions including arrivals, production, retail and wholesale.
Qualification requirements
Degree / Diploma in Commerce or Business Science
