VWCV Special Markets Consultant


Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the VWCV Special Markets Consultant position in the VWCV Department - NSO (Sandton)  

Brief Role Description

Plan and facilitate the selling of VW Commercial Vehicles to Government, State Owned Entities , Diplomatic and Physically challenged markets, through the compilation and submission of RT57 State Tender Contract, which becomes the foundation and operative document that assists in formulating and implementing strategic inputs which help to increase sales and market share by penetrating new market opportunities, such as full maintenance leasing companies that are contracted to government structures.  Identify corporate sales opportunities and build relationships with fleet customers and dealers to secure incremental sales for the VWCV brand.

Possible Tasks within this Role

 

  • Managing and coordinating key identified client portfolio, comprising of provinces and key accounts, having a dedicated visitation programme on monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Utilizing the customer relationship management system and processes, by continually updating customer details, so as to always uphold relevant and accurate data on clients.
  • Utilizing the fleet of demonstration vehicles to market and promote VWCV products and the brand within government and State-Owned Enterprises and fleet markets, with the intention to achieve maximum sales and market share.
  • Monitoring and analyzing competitor fleet activities, conducting market intelligence gathering surveys to acquire information that would assist in formulating recommendations and recovery strategies.
  • Identifying new business opportunities by prospecting government and related markets which are not yet serviced by VWCV to increase sales and market share.
  • Develop focused strategies to target government contracted Full Maintenance Leasing companies in order to secure incremental vehicle sales.
  • Conduct presentations to internal customers and dealers advising them about the significance and contribution of government sales to the broader VWCV business.
  • Analyzing customer feedback and formulating recommendations regarding changes to vehicle specifications and facilitating the quick resolve of technical queries from customers.
  • Forging links between the Dealer Network, Government and fleet customers with an intention to improve customer service and thereby maximizing sales.
  • Actively participating and adding value in all social responsibility programmes promoted by our key customers, so as to build and strengthen relationships and further enhance VWCV brand presence with surrounding communities.
  • Continuous engagements with Convertors/ Bodybuilders ensuring the Conversions guidelines and specifications are adhered to.

 

Qualification requirements

A formal 3-year Bachelor’s degree/ National Diploma from a recognised tertiary institution in Marketing / Public Relations / Commerce

A relevant post-graduate qualification would be advantageous

 

 

 

Experience needed

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in retail / marketing / sales with above average VW Commercial Vehicles product knowledge.
  • Extensive experience in dealing with large client groups.
  • Extensive experience in tender compilation and administration

  • Be fully proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with well-developed report preparation/ presentation skills
  • Be able to travel in the normal ambit of the role, covering client portfolio visits and consultations
