ABOUT THE ROLE

To apply principles of biomechanics, human anatomy, and physiology to enhance the design, ergonomics, and safety of automotive products and work environments. This role involves a multidisciplinary approach aimed at improving the overall human experience within vehicles and automotive processes. Utilize knowledge of human anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise physiology to facilitate rehabilitation, promote health, and optimize physical performance among patients. This role encompasses a holistic approach centered on enhancing the quality of life and overall well-being of individuals through tailored movement-based interventions. This positin is based in our Wellness Centre - Human Resources (Kariega)

KEY RESPNSIBILITIES

  • Ergonomic Design, Safety & Risk Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design ergonomic work environments, assess workplace risks, ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, and reduce the likelihood of work-related injuries.
  • Workforce Health, Wellbeing & Performance: Promote active lifestyles and movement-based interventions that enhance employee wellbeing, reduce fatigue, improve physical health, and support optimal performance in automotive manufacturing and product development.
  • Assessment, Rehabilitation & Return to Function: Conduct physical and functional assessments, develop individualized rehabilitation programmes, and support recovery, mobility, and safe return to optimal function following injury, surgery, or illness.
  • Chronic Disease Management & Health Education: Implement exercise-based interventions for individuals with chronic health conditions while educating employees and patients on physical activity, self-management, injury prevention, and long-term wellbeing.
  • Collaboration & Patient-Centred Care: Work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare and occupational teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that support recovery, health outcomes, and workplace integration.
  • Research, Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to research and evidence-based practice by evaluating human movement, ergonomics, and automotive technologies, driving innovative solutions that improve health outcomes, safety, user experience, and operational effectiveness

 

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Health Sciences in Biokinetics
  • Health and safety qualifications -advantageous
  • Basic life support certificate – advantageous

 

Professional Registration:

  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

 

Experience:

  • No work experience required

  • Good analytical skills
  • Good decision-making skills
  • Computer literacy skills
