ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quality Engineer – Electrical is responsible for ensuring that electrical motor vehicle components consistently meet specification requirements throughout their lifecycle. The role focuses on new part introduction, continuous improvement, problem resolution, and providing technical expertise on electrical components and harnesses to support product quality and customer satisfaction. - This temporary position is based in teh Quality Assurance Division (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initiate and manage the qualifying programme for new electrical part introductions.
- Ensure continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Test and evaluate electrical components and harnesses to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Provide technical expertise on materials, function, and design of electrical parts.
- Initiate and support design improvements for complex electrical quality issues.
- Apply quality tools to support problem resolution and process improvement.
- Interface with internal departments and suppliers to resolve quality-related deviations
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of motor vehicle electrical components, harnesses, specifications, manufacturing processes, and testing methods
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and application of quality tools (DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and presentation skills at all organisational levels.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally; valid driver’s licence required.
