ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Technical Data Analyst to ensure accurate Bills of Materials for series and pre‑series parts, enabling uninterrupted vehicle and component production for local, in‑house, and export customers. The role manages engineering changes, analyses BOM deviations, PR number readiness, and drives part number variant control to support production continuity, cost control, quality, and customer satisfaction. This position is based in the Logistics Department - Production (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess and manage the impact of engineering changes on Bills of Materials.
- Determine optimal implementation timing of changes to avoid production risks and unnecessary costs.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of imported and local materials through effective coordination.
- Implement controlled temporary BOM interventions to prevent line stoppages.
- Maintain accurate BOM data for JIT, JIS, and kit suppliers.
- Investigate BOM data discrepancies in support of accurate vehicle costing.
- Drive PR number readiness in support of new project introduction process.
- Drive part number variant reduction through analysis and cross‑functional engagement.
- Support material and factory cost governance through participation in relevant forums
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/ Industrial or Electrical Engineering/ Production Management/ Supply Chain Management/ Logistics/Information Technology /Data Science
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Logistics, preferably within the automotive industry
- Experience with Volkswagen Group Technical Data, engineering change management, and BOM systems
- Working knowledge of logistics processes, PEP process, and cross‑functional coordination
- Project management and coordination experience
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently
- Advanced Power BI skills (data modelling, dashboards, reporting)
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and SAP
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Ability to communicate professionally at all levels
- Strong logical thinking and task‑oriented approach
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
