Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the Task Force Technician position in the the QA Vehicle Manufacturing Department - QA (Kariega)
Brief Role Description
To secure satisfactory parts to production through the implementation of a sorting or rework activity on problematic parts to prevent disruption as reported by Production or QAVM. To conduct pre-analysis of line reported purchase parts faults and report faults to parts quality engineer for root cause analysis
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Investigating line reported purchase parts faults, FVA & DKA B-faults via pre-analysis and implement a containment action.
- Conducting regular rework audits on reworks performed by a service provider to establish adherence to the required standard.
- Conduct regular product audits to proactively stop line disruptions
- Analyze line disruptions by means of part evaluation, DOE, Process Verification, Dimensional analysis and Cubing Fitment.
- Raise a problem sheet with a pre-analysis and report problems to the Parts Quality Engineer for effective resolution with the supplier.
- Representing QAPP at daily non-conforming parts meeting to establish and confirm supplier faults.
- Assisting the Supervisor with activities related to claims in order to ensure a successful claim with Group Quality.
- Resolving line NCP disputes through arbitration
- Reviewing supplier breakpoints using the sort monitoring timing plan to reduce the number of sorts and reworks.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of supplier breakpoint parts.
- Visiting local suppliers to assist with corrective measures that are required to define parts processes
Qualification requirements
National Diploma / B-tech in Engineering Field (Mechanical / Electrical / Operations Management / Quality)
Experience needed
Minimum 3 years working experience in the manufacturing environment
Essentials
- Knowledge of applicable vehicle parts, manufacturing processes of parts.
- Knowledge of quality tools e.g. DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D problem resolution reports, product audits and parts per Million (PPM) etc.
- Computer skills (MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Word , Excel)
- Knowledge of quality standards
- Proven analytical skills with an innovative approach to problem-solving
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Good presentation skills.
- Decisive
- Good team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must have a valid driver’s license
