ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Security Operations Supervisor to join our Group Security team. The successful candidate will oversee the smooth functioning of security operations at the Manufacturing plant (A-Plant), satellite plants/facilities & security assessment (Audit) of the security services by applying Company Policies & Procedures in order to ensure maximum security of employees and Company assets. This position is based in the Human Resources Division (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze daily incident reports and implement proactive actions to reduce security risks and losses.
- Advise management on security matters affecting employees, facilities and company property.
- Coordinate security officer deployment, training, equipment and operational readiness.
- Audit security administration, access-control activities, work instructions and service-provider compliance.
- Coordinate employee transport security requirements and related operational controls.
- Monitor national security staffing and key operational performance indicators, including cost recovery where contractual staffing requirements are not met.
- Assess security arrangements for special operations and visitors and maintain a daily live action plan for incidents and security requirements.
- Participate in Duty Officer responsibilities during emergencies outside normal working hours.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Security Management or Security Risk Management
- Additional qualification in business and finance management would be advantageous.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ security experience, including at least 3 years focused on security operational planning, organising and control.
- At least 2 years’ supervisory or leadership experience.
- Sound knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Effective planning, coordination and administration.
- Sound decision-making and security assessment capability.
- Integrity and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
