Brief Role Description

The Center of Excellence (CoE) belongs to Volkswagen Group Technology (Group Battery) and serves as a central interface between the group brands and global cell suppliers.

All activities in the product life cycle of vehicle batteries – from strategic definition through development and quality assurance (QA) to recycling – converge at the CoE. Our department of Purchased Parts Quality within QA is responsible for the battery cells and cell modules of global suppliers in the respective pre-series and series projects.

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Providing quality oversight of components during the development phase and beyond series production
  • Evaluating suppliers in the awarding process regarding their quality capabilities and ensuring the maturity level through on-site supplier visits
  • Issuing process and product approvals for series production and ensuring quality requirements in the product development process
  • Developing and enhancing quality and testing standards as well as specifications
  • Implementing corrective actions with suppliers in the event of quality deviations

Qualification requirements

  • Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable qualification
  • Experience in Quality Management and Quality Assurance, particularly in component responsibility
  • Fluent English skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively both nationally and internationally
