Brief Role Description
Based in Sandton within the SSA department, the successful incumbent will be responsible to implement and measure above- and below-the-line marketing plans to effectively build the brand’s market positioning and image in the Sub-Saharan Region, to result in improved levels of consumer trust and confidence and increased sales for the brand in the Sub-Saharan Region
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Develop and implement integrated marketing plans for the Sub-Saharan Region in line with the global Marketing strategy, to support the achievement of Sub-Saharan market targets through ongoing model support business programs.
- Plan, develop and execute advertising and marketing campaigns to create awareness and demand in the Sub-Saharan region
- . Do in-market visits across the Sub-Saharan region gain an understanding of social norms and explore ways of localizing marketing efforts to Build strong cases for local implementation of core programs/products and adopt, adapt, ideate core global programs to maximize regional performance.
- Monitor Sub-Saharan network advertising and validation of creative material
- Building in-country Marketing practitioner capacity and measurement of clear and succinct ROI in SSA
- Collaboration and information sharing on global marketing initiatives with VWAG marketing departments and attendance of the Marketing Round Table meetings
- Analysis and collation of market information for requested VWAG reports and management of creative and media agencies in executing briefs
- Supervise production suppliers and other service providers in the production and implementation of marketing activities
- Lead implementation of marketing and portfolio initiatives, working closely with Sub-Sahara Sales, Product and Business Managers, ensuring maximum leverage of programs and growth in the region.
- Develop and implement advertising strategies that place the Volkswagen brands in a competitive position in the market in line with business imperatives and strategic marketing objectives
- Manage and approve all media planning and implementation to ensure maximum cost efficiencies in reaching the defined target audience.
- Work closely with market research & insights teams to understand customer segmentation / behavior & identify consumer insights to leverage in lifecycle marketing
- Design initiatives to collect customer data to enrich customer profiles and improve personalization of engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team and work closely with sales, communications, product, and business development teams for strategic campaigns
- Develop and distribute advertising bulletins to ensure up-to-date information on relevant market developments is communicated to the Sub-Saharan network
Qualification requirements
A recognised Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Commerce/ Management/ Marketing / Communications |
Experience needed
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of Marketing Communications within Public Relations, Brand Promotions and Launches, Brand Advertising, Marketing Research, Media Strategy, Digital Marketing |
