ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a strategic and results‑driven Regional Sales Manager to partner with the Volkswagen Dealer Network in driving New Vehicle, MasterCars and Accessories sales performance. The role focuses on steering retail operations, strengthening dealer relationships, and ensuring consistent delivery of customer service excellence to achieve Volkswagen South Africa’s retail, market share, and profitability objectives. This position is based in the Sales Operations Department - VW Brand NSO (Sandton)
KEY RESPONSIBILLTIES
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with Dealer Principals and management.
- Define and agree dealer sales and customer service objectives aligned to regional and national targets.
- Analyse regional and dealer performance, stock, and market trends to identify opportunities and risks.
- Guide dealer marketing, stock mix, accessories, and sales initiatives to optimise performance.
- Monitor dealer performance against VWSA KPIs and implement corrective action where required.
- Support dealer sustainability through performance reviews, compliance audits, and process improvements.
- Participate in dealer sales management selection and advise on training and development needs.
- Participate in the selection and approval of Sales Executives and Sales Managers and advise on training and development needs.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Marketing, Commerce or Business Management.
- Post-graduate qualification will be advantageous.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the motor industry, ideally across areas such as

- Sales or volume planning
- Product planning
- Franchise or dealer development
- Business and financial management

- 3–5 years’ experience at a supervisory or management level within a sales environment
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Strategic and analytical thinking ability
- Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Sound understanding of financial principles and dealer business management
- Excellent communication skills at all organisational levels
- Strong VW product, retail selling and market knowledge
- Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional environment
- Resilient, results-driven, innovative and customer-focused
