ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a self-motivated and driven Projects Buyer to join our Projects Planning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that local content requirements for the new model launches are met and that projects are completed to achieve the company’s objectives. This position is based in the Project Planning Department - Procurement (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile and submit material cost and investment budgets for new and existing projects.
- Maintain and report on project investment budgets.
- Manage investment approvals at Local VAP and Group Forums (VAI/IAM).
- Support annual Planning Round inputs.
- Track and report local content status and targets.
- Coordinate with Commodities on parts availability, costs, capacity and investments.
- Represent Procurement in weekly Product Teams and provide inputs to decision making forums.
- Maintain standardized workflows and ensure project timelines are met.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
• Degree/Diploma in Procurement, Logistics, Projects, Economics, Finance or Business Management.
Experience:
- 3–5 years Procurement experience (motor or related industry). Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legal requirements and Project Planning.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Project and business management.
- Financial analysis and costing.
- Communication, presentation, conflict management and stakeholder engagement.
- Multitasking, self-motivation and strong interpersonal skills.
- Above average computer literacy.
