Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill Production Systems Engineer position in the Industrial Engineering Department - Production (Kariega) 

Brief Description:

 

To carry out prime responsibility/accountability at VWSA for the sustainable implementation of the VW Group Production System. Continued pursuit of costs optimization through effective resource utilization thereby ensuring long term profitability and sustainable returns on investments. Entrenching and further improvement of Shop Floor Management (SFM) Responsible for plant wide Corporate Identity and Standardization guidelines. Responsible for facilitating as lead moderator for all Production System Efficien­cy & Problem Solving workshops

Possible Tasks within this Role

Experience needed

  • At least 3-5 years’ relevant experience in a production environment
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience as a lead moderator
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in leading a cross-divisional team in a workshop environment

Qualification requirements

National Diploma in Industrial Engineering / Diploma Production Management / Diploma Operations Management or a similar technical field

Essentials

  • A sound knowledge and deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and Shop Floor Management cascade methodology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Industrial Engineering techniques i.e. work measurement and method studies
  • Strong planning, organizing, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic engineering design knowledge
  • Intermediate Level computer literacy required:
    • Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBi

Added Advantage

  • Experience in Project and administration management
  • Knowledge of production, logistics and quality processes within an automotive/manufacturing environment
