Brief Description:
To carry out prime responsibility/accountability at VWSA for the sustainable implementation of the VW Group Production System. Continued pursuit of costs optimization through effective resource utilization thereby ensuring long term profitability and sustainable returns on investments. Entrenching and further improvement of Shop Floor Management (SFM) Responsible for plant wide Corporate Identity and Standardization guidelines. Responsible for facilitating as lead moderator for all Production System Efficiency & Problem Solving workshops

Possible Tasks within this Role
- Coordinating the implementation of all VW Production system methods in the Plant.
- Moderating of 3P new model introduction, efficiency improvements, value-stream and problem-solving workshops.
- Supporting digitalisation activities in the plant in key areas such as Safety, Quality, Volume, People, Efficiency, and Cost.
- Introducing, chairing and maintaining forums to ensure the sustainable control of Production standards within the Plant.
- Representing VWGA at various forums within the Brand and contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making processes globally.
- Supporting Production Management with coaching when implementing VW Production systems methods.
- Developing and introducing a Production management and staff development plan and ensure all VW production system methods are included.
- Introduce new and improved productivity and quality methods into production and non-production areas.
- Be an ambassador of standardized work and consistently promote a deeper understanding of the 40 MBS’s plant wide, for example 5S, working to standards, problem-solving and TPM.
Experience needed
- At least 3-5 years’ relevant experience in a production environment
- 2 to 3 years’ experience as a lead moderator
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in leading a cross-divisional team in a workshop environment
Qualification requirements
National Diploma in Industrial Engineering / Diploma Production Management / Diploma Operations Management or a similar technical field
Essentials
- A sound knowledge and deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and Shop Floor Management cascade methodology.
- Knowledge and understanding of Industrial Engineering techniques i.e. work measurement and method studies
- Strong planning, organizing, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Basic engineering design knowledge
- Intermediate Level computer literacy required:
- Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBi
Added Advantage
- Experience in Project and administration management
- Knowledge of production, logistics and quality processes within an automotive/manufacturing environment
