ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated professional Product Readiness Engineer to support new vehicle model introductions by developing and maintaining accurate technical publications, owner information, and service literature. The role ensures technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective delivery of vehicle information to support successful product launches and dealer service operations. This position is based in NSO Group Services (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain localized service information, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and South African market suitability.
- Validate technical information with key stakeholders and ensure accurate, timely publication within launch targets.
- Assess engineering changes and new model launches, ensuring service information is updated and delivered on time.
- Monitor and improve technical content quality through dealer feedback, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Resolve dealer technical issues and service information gaps, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions
- Develop and validate market-specific service literature and in-vehicle information to ensure accuracy, quality, and launch readiness.
- Support cost reduction and customer satisfaction through accurate service information and effective repair solutions.
- Coordinate special tool and equipment requirements to ensure dealer readiness for engineering changes and new product launches.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or an equivalent automotive-related engineering qualification.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate experience in automotive engineering, vehicle diagnostics, technical analysis, and problem solving.
- Proven experience in automotive product support and new model introductions, including investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of vehicle-related technical issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Volkswagen and Audi products, vehicle systems, and emerging technologies.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Technical analysis and problem-solving.
- Technical writing and documentation development.
- Planning and coordination.
- Interpretation of German engineering drawings & technical data.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Discipline and ability to work under pressure.
