Process Monitoring Engineer
Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the Process Monitoring Engineer position in the BodyShop - Production (Kariega)
Brief Role Description
Provide support to production to ensure that critical elements of the Body Shop Control plans are in place and adhered to. Timely feedback to Body Sop management on non-adherence to carry out the control element tasks to ensure reliable product. Prevent negative impact on Plant Quality KPI and Flow out KPI as a result of production and their support functions not fulfilling the assigned roles and responsibilities with regard to the Control plan elements.
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Give input when required for SAB, process standards and work instructions to ensure they include Change points (ECR, Aeko)
- Confirm with Sectional Process engineer that all changes within processes through introduction of AEKO’s, ECR’s, MY, new models, new derivatives, are included in Control plans
- Chair feedback meetings with Sectional Supervisors on all non-compliances in Shop SFM meetings
- Perform the following audits on process adherence.
- Generate weekly/monthly reports per section to show compliance per element
- Drive compliance daily with specific monitoring processes.
- Confirm that sustainable solutions for non-compliance of elements are put in place.
- Design a process that will enable Production to improve their performance and will assist with the management and control of the processes.
Qualification requirements
National Diploma or Degree in Engineering/ Mechatronics/ Operations/ Production Management
Essentials
- Have knowledge of FMEA process
- Prepared to travel overseas
- Communicate at all levels
- Proven analytical skills with an innovative approach to problem-solving
- Proficient in MS Office
- Detailed knowledge of Body Shop processes and equipment
- Sound technical knowledge with respect to the Production, Tooling, Facilities and Systems
Experience needed
Minimum of 2 – 3 years technical/engineering experience within an automotive manufacturing concern
Added Advantage
- CAD literate
- Speak and read German
