ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Process Engineer at Body Shop to provide technical support to Production by developing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing processes to achieve quality, volume, cost, and efficiency targets. The role also drives continuous improvement and supports process stability within the Body Shop environment. This position is based in Body Shop - Production (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Production with process development, optimisation, and problem-solving.
- Coordinate process and facility changes linked to ECRs, AEKOs, and new model introductions.
- Drive continuous improvement, productivity, and efficiency initiatives.
- Maintain process documentation, technical data, and production plans.
- Support audits, quality improvement activities, and welding non-conformance resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve departmental objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Production Management, Operations Management, Business Management.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ technical / engineering experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of production processes, layouts, production systems, and shop facilities.
- Detailed knowledge of Body Shop processes, equipment, tooling, facilities, and production systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of jigs and fixtures, including the ability to support dimensional accuracy of the vehicle body.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and project coordination abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- CAD, Hyper KVS, Avon, PowerApps, and German language skills advantageous
