ABOUT THE ROLE
Volkswagen Group Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical CKD Material Control Analyst to ensure the sufficient and timely supply of quality materials to production in the most cost-effective manner, in order to meet customer requirements and support company objectives related to quality, cost efficiency, and schedule adherence. This position is based in the Logistics Department (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
- Ensure the timely availability of CKD materials to support uninterrupted production operations.
- Monitor, analyse, and control CKD inventory levels in alignment with production plans and targets.
- Plan CKD material requirements in accordance with approved production schedules.
- Liaise with suppliers, expeditors, and internal stakeholders to proactively resolve material-related issues and ensure timeous deliveries.
- Analyse material variances, shortages, and surpluses, and implement appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CKD material master data and transactional records within SAP.
- Support month-end reporting activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics and supply chain environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering,
Work Experience:
- 3- 5 years’ experience in Material Control, Supply Chain, or Logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- 1-2 years working knowledge of SAP (Materials Management / Logistics).
- Basic understanding of logistics principles and production systems, with the ability to support efficient material flow and operational processes.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office packages, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure; self-disciplined and proactive
- Effective communication skills
