Brief Role Description

To Investigate, plan and coordinate the development, testing and introduction of process materials. Investigate, plan and coordinate processes relating to manufacturing of facilities, purchasing of equipment and products. Arrange, plan and coordinate the introduction of new product models. Initiate the introduction process changes on specific models. Maintain and assist production teams in the development of Work Instructions and Standards operation sheets. Identify improvement opportunities with regard to processes or materials

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Examining, analyzing and assessing ECR’s as issues in AVON and provide reports on the feasibility and investment requirements to introduce the ECR; and manage successful implementation in Production.
  • Evaluating Engineering changes applicable to section of responsibility.
  • Preparing necessary documentation to ensure efficient introduction of ECR’s (Shipment Changes).
  • Organizing the necessary Systems Coding to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
  • Formulating and compiling detailed facility specifications to ensure the required facilities, machines, equipment and tools meet the levels of excellence.
  • Co-coordinating, monitoring and advising during Design reviews when formulating the design and manufacture of new jigs, fixtures and tools or modifications.
  • Controlling and directing Buy-off of new facilities by supervising try-outs, commissioning and measuring (dimensional) of these new facilities to ensure production processes is ergonomic and capable of producing the required quality and consistency.
  • Organizing and monitoring the installation of air, water, gas and electrical services to support the processes when issuing a General Service Request (GSR) to Central Plant Engineering to avoid disruption of the production process.
  • Taking part in Production Systems Workshops as part of continuous improvement program focusing on process improvements, layouts, tooling, material flow improvements, cost savings, manufacturing concepts, and cycle time improvements and execute tasks from the workshop i.e. new facilities required, modifications, relocations.
  • Planning, implementing and controlling new processes procedures or production changes, and or facility tooling changes.
  • Conducting and coordinating trials during VFF, PVS, and O-Series build and implement corrective actions to ensure production readiness for Start of Production and Series build
  • Coordinating PVS build in order to optimize facilities, equipment, and plant-/process layouts and to get production sign off

Qualification requirements

National Diploma in Industrial Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering / Production Management/Operations Management

Experience needed

3 years’ relevant work experience in a Production environment

Essentials

  • Ability to compile detailed investment studies and project control plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, layouts and Final Assembly facilities
  • Excellent insight into Product Engineering, Process and Mechanical Planning, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing, Pilot Hall and IS production systems
  • Ability to specify exact requirements of equipment, technologies and tools required to manufacture vehicles in Assembly
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office incl. Projects)
  • Business Systems knowledge would be advantageous i.e. Hyper KVS, SAP Process System, PSSL, Arbeits Plan, LOGNET, Ti-Rex, IFA (Sorten), MB(TiTAN).
  • Assertiveness, decision making, facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Proven analytical and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Excellent administration skills (including Report Writing, Presentation Skills)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be prepared to travel local and abroad so and when required
