ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Maintenance Engineer to join our Body Shop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum availability and efficiency of plant equipment through proactive maintenance strategies, technical expertise, and continuous improvement initiatives. This poisition is based in Body Shop - Production (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive preventative and predictive maintenance to maximise equipment availability
- Resolve technical breakdowns and implement root cause solutions
- Develop and optimise maintenance processes and schedules
- Support commissioning of new equipment and projects
- Ensure compliance with safety and VWGA standards
- Monitor plant performance and drive continuous improvement
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma / Degree in Engineering e.g. electrical, mechanical or mechatronics
Experience:
- 3–7 years’ experience in an industrial or automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience in preventative and predictive maintenance systems
- Project management and implementation experience
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, drive systems, and manufacturing processes
- Sound understanding of Body Shop processes and equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Power BI, Power Apps, etc.)
