Our department for "Development of Electric Drives, Power Electronics & Transmissions", which is part of Group Components at the Kassel, Wolfsburg, and Gaimersheim sites, plays a leading role in this endeavor. It is responsible for the development of all future inverters for electric drives. We are shaping the mobile future by consistently transforming our innovations into cost-effective products and continuously improving existing technologies. Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Creating a requirements catalog for parametric CAD models of individual Pulse Inverter (PWR) components and their interfaces
  • Developing corresponding models, methods, and processes
  • Validating the developed models
  • Optimizing and automating the developed processes
  • Collaborating with the development team, particularly with the simulation team and design engineers

 

The final doctoral topic is defined together with the professor. The prerequisite for the cooperation is the confirmation of supervision as well as a confirmed delimitation of topics by the professor of a university or research institution entitled to confer a doctorate.

Qualification requirements

  • Good to very good university degree qualifying for doctoral studies in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest and knowledge in virtual development methods and tools
  • Solid experience with neural network models, including supervised learning and reinforcement learning
  • Experience with simulation tools like LTspice, MATLAB
  • Familiarity with CAD design tools and mechanical modeling
  • German or English language level B2
