ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Group Parts Logistics Supervisor to lead the end-to-end urgent parts logistics function by ensuring fast, cost – effective sourcing, replenishment and availability of critical Parts and Accessories from both local and international suppliers, including Kassel. This position is based in the Group Parts Department - NSO ( Centurion)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inventory & Service Management: Monitor inventory performance, manage demand and backorders, optimize stock levels, and ensure service level targets are achieved.
- Cost Control: Analyze airfreight costs, manage excess and obsolete inventory, and coordinate supplier claims to improve cost efficiency.
- Reporting & Analysis: Produce inventory, demand, service level, and performance reports to support business decision-making.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/VDA standards, participate in audits, and drive continuous process improvement.
- People Leadership: Lead, coach, develop, and performance-manage a team of Analysts to achieve operational excellence and business objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in Purchasing, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or relevant business qualification (e.g. CPIM, Diploma in Logistics, B.Com Supply Chain)
- Additional training in SAP, forecasting systems, or international logistics advantageous
Experience:
- 4–5 years’ experience in inventory management, purchasing, supply chain or related logistics functions within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / VDA standards and procurement governance & compliance procedures
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Inventory management, sourcing, import logistics, manufacturing lead times, and supplier/freight forwarder management.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP, IDIS (or equivalent), and MS Office, with a basic understanding of EPIS and ETKA systems.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem - solving ability
- Ability to work under pressure in a high -volume, time -sensitive environment
- Self - driven, organized and methodical; able to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication at all organizational levels
- Ability to interpret raw data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions
- Confident, assertive approach when dealing with suppliers, service providers and logistics partners
- Customer - service orientation with professional telephone and email etiquette
