ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced employee to fill the Electrician vacancy within the Engine Plant. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance, repair, and fault‑finding of electrical, electronic, and automated equipment, to support equipment reliability, ensure production continuity, and maintain safe operating standards within the Engine Plant. This position is based in Production - Kariega
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process supplier documents accurately and on time.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of suppliers’ documents in line with orders, contracts, Delivery Notes, and Legal Agreements.
- Classify transactions correctly according to SARB BOP codes.
- Handle supplier and Business Area queries promptly and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain spreadsheets and records for Cash & Banking relating to SARB reporting.
- Prepare payment proposals and ensure adherence to SARB documentation and EXCON requirements.
- Maintain supplier master data and banking details.
- Cost shipments timeously and clear General Ledger Clearing and Goods‑In‑Transit accounts.
- Verify accuracy of customs clearance documents and arrange corrections where necessary.
- Perform Month‑End FACT reporting.
- Support cash management by forecasting local payments.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Qualified Electrician
Work Experience:
- A minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance environment.
- Proven experience in fault‑finding and repairs within safety parameters
- Sound working knowledge of Siemens S5 / S7 PLC programming and diagnostics
Added Advantage
- Experience with Engine Plant equipment, including Block Line machines, CNC lathes, assembly conveyors, and lifting equipment
- Experience with Jendamark, Bosch, or DGD tightening systems
- Computer hardware repairs and upgrading knowledge
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Relay logic experience and fault‑finding capability (essential)
- Ability to complete maintenance schedules timeously
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Proactive contribution to continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong communication skills at all organisational levels
- Positive team player within a maintenance environment
- Willing to work shifts, where applicable
- Overtime during weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
- During year‑end shutdowns and other company‑announced shutdowns
