ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to take ownership of electrical systems within plant operations, supporting automation performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement to ensure optimal plant availability. This position is based in our Production Planning Division - Production (Kariega)

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure electrical installations comply with VWSA standards.
  • Perform maintenance, fault finding, and breakdown analysis
  • Optimise and upgrade electrical and automation systems.
  • Maintain plant equipment availability and performance
  • Support calibration, training, and cross-functional activities.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics
  • Certified training in PLCs, Drives, Pneumatics or Hydraulics

 

Work Experience:

  • 3–5 years’ relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in substations, MV systems, and PLC-controlled environments.

 

Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of process control and instrumentation
