Volkswagen Group of America’s 10 – week Summer Internship Program targets undergraduate students entering their Junior or Senior years who are eager to acquire practical, real-world experience in the automotive industry. Role Summary
The Purchasing Intern will support the Battery and Connectivity Purchasing team by performing data analysis and assisting with procurement activities. This role provides exposure to sourcing processes, supplier evaluation, cost analysis, and change management initiatives. The intern will also contribute to creating automated data solutions and generating user-friendly reports to improve purchasing efficiency.
Possible Tasks within this Role

Perform data analysis to support purchasing activities.

Brainstorm, construct, and execute data management strategies for a more automated database.

Generate user-friendly reports for internal stakeholders.

Track engineering changes and coordinate with buyers and process centers.

Provide specialized analysis such as foreign exchange and pricing deep dives.
Qualification Requirements
- A rising college Junior, Senior or recent graduate
- Strong GPA
- Strong preference for business, operations or other related majors
Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Familiarity with SAP or similar financial systems.
- Strong data analytics skills
