Volkswagen Group of America’s 10 – week Summer Internship Program targets undergraduate students entering their Junior or Senior years who are eager to acquire practical, real-world experience in the automotive industry. This program is designed for high potential, highly mobile, and self-starter candidates with a strong interest in the automotive industry. Focused on the development of professional and technical competencies as well as on-the-job-training, our Summer Internship Program is an excellent opportunity to explore career choices early on. Program Information:

  • 10-week Summer Internship Start Date (non-negotiable): June 1, 2026
  • Program Duration: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026

Role Summary

This position will be responsible for assisting the HR Inclusion and Engagement Specialist with compiling marketing material/designs related to company engagement initiatives and general administrative and project support.

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Supports the HR Inclusion and Engagement Specialist in the development and delivery of all internal marketing and graphic design tools, including but not limited to websites, print media, product design, displays, and productions.
  • Coordinates marketing design projects, collaborating with multiple departments.
  • Designs and develops product brand identity.
  • Plans concepts by studying relevant information and materials.
  • Illustrates concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval.
  • Prepares finished art by operating necessary equipment and software.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors, art services, web designer, marketing, printers, and colleagues, as necessary.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks that align with and promote the Company’s culture management goals (e.g., Inclusion & Belonging).
  • Creates a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites with software such as Photoshop.
  • Reviews final layouts and suggest improvements when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous process improvement efforts around marketing and communication.
  • Performs other job-related duties and works on special projects as assigned.

Qualification requirements

Required:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, or related discipline.
  • Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign Quark, and Illustrator.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexible schedule (some weekends)

Desired:

  • Prior experience as a graphic designer or in related field.
  • Proficient in typography, color, and composition
  • Photography or video editing skills
