Engineering Specialist - CAD Design

Brief Role Description
Act as a CAD system expert to execute all necessary component changes as related to engineering changes and technical evaluations; utilize Catia to trouble shoot component concept and/or production topics: load complex vehicle assemblies, perform tolerance studies (cloud analysis); execute all technical changes for current exterior components: file CAD data in KVS and prepare design release, run quality check meetings and ensure as close to mistake free data releases as possible, support product engineer to get new CAD models, drawings and PDM’s released; work together with exterior engineering team to design complete new parts and assemblies when requested in model care projects; serve as Subject Matter expert for all systems that surround product design: work with design centers globally to know the coming changes in design release standards and how to work with new systems and technologies, support IT in troubleshoot existing revision level systems and to make them aware of coming version level changes or of changing technologies, support in rollout of new technologies; coordinate all CAD data exchange with suppliers and customers; support design studies for future model care ideas, FMK/PKOs, special model ideas, and innovative research.
Qualification requirements
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering or Technology or related field of study and 12 months of experience; will accept three years toward a Bachelor degree and 36 months of experience. Experience must have included: CAD design/creation; exterior vehicle component systems.
