Electrical Engineering Specialist Sr-Projects

Brief Role Description

Ensure vehicle project alignment with all partners throughout each development phase and into production; ensure project timelines, releases and engineering changes are tracked and coordinated; anticipate and prepare for new opportunities; execute job-split discussions with developing partners; ensure constant communication of project status; coordinate and guide projects team; coordinate local project lead (FGS) functions within team to ensure all model changes and vehicle launches run smoothly; support developers and suppliers for all electrical control module topics for the vehicles assembled at Volkswagen Chattanooga; work with Analysis team to verify evaluation of concerns from the manufacturing process to ensure detailed analysis and resolution recommendation with the supplier and other component owners throughout the world to ensure no side effects to other markets occur; work with Analysis team to review field concerns and identify root cause; helps define countermeasures with the supplier and component owners when product changes are necessary; work with internal partners to ensure Volkswagen requirements are available and understood during the supplier selection phases; work with the Fachgruppensprecher in Germany or Puebla to bring new electrical components or features for model refinement and product improvements to the market through supporting the creation and tracking of new model updates; ensure creation of change requests to components as needed for the model updates and series maintenance for all electrical modules; work with the Analysis team to confirm all necessary testing has been identified and executed to ensure the proper release of all electrical systems into the NAR market; identify local suppliers for electronic components and work together with Purchasing, Quality, and VWAG to get the parts released locally; establish VW Quality Standards at new and existing NAR suppliers. Monitors and identifies market trends and makes product recommendations for the region; ensure development of electrical components specifically required for the NAR market by creating specifications, work with Purchasing to identify potential suppliers, develop the feature with the selected supplier, and ensure the end product meets the specifications and market requirements; lead product optimization for all electrical potential (including control modules, switches, wire harness, energy components) by working directly with other areas of the organization (Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, etc.) to identify, evaluate, and implement potential ideas; provide guidance, advice, feedback and support to the team members with less experience. Ensure specialized knowledge and team processes are well documented.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field of study and 84 months of experience.  Experience must have included: automotive electronic system testing and control modules; vehicle communication networks and tools; root cause analysis.
