ABOUT THE ROLE

The aim of the programme is to allow access to Technical/Trade related Programmes on a full-time basis. This programme will be administered by the Technical Learning Academy (TLA) as part of their drive to uplift technical skills within the organisation and the community. This programme is supported by the Union.   Therefore, applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants (permanent VWSA Hourly-rated employees, permanently employed VWSA employee’s children and the Nelson Mandela Bay local community) to participate in the following technical apprentice programmes: Electrical, Mechanical Fitter, Millwright, Automotive Motor Mechanic, Transportation Electrician and Mechatronics Technician.Training Period: 3 or 4 years

REQUIREMENTS

Must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Have grade 12/technical matric with a pass in core mathematics/technical mathematics and physical science/engineering science. Maths Literacy will not be considered. OR At least N3/NTC3 (4 subjects including core Mathematics and Physical Science) or higher

 

Must select trades/field of training with a few choices (order of priority)

  • Make selection in application question.

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Successful candidates:

  • Will not work overtime for the duration of the Technical Programme unless authorized to do so.
  • Will not be allowed to register for further studies that are not part of the apprenticeship and that will require lecture attendance during office hours for the duration of the Technical Programme

 

 Ensure your application include the following:

  • Certified Copy of National ID not older than 3 months.
  • Highest School or College qualification (certified copy not older than 3 months) – Not a transcript
  • Full motivation letter why you wish to join programme.
