Brief Role Description
The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a critical role in advancing VGCA’s People & Culture objectives by managing full‑cycle recruitment across multiple brands and business areas. The role blends operational recruiting excellence with strategic partnership, ensuring high‑quality talent acquisition processes, strong relationships with key stakeholders, and an exceptional candidate experience.
This position requires professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to operate in a fast‑paced, multidimensional environment while upholding Volkswagen’s commitment to equity, accessibility, and a positive employee experience
Location: Our office is located in Ajax, Ontario. You will be required to work form this location at least three days a week and ability to work remotely two days.
Salary Range: $87,260.00 to $97,260.00 annually
Possible Tasks within this Role
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Leadership
- Lead the full recruitment lifecycle, including intake meetings, job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
- Conduct structured and competency‑based interviews to assess skill, experience, and cultural alignment.
- Build strong partnerships with Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners, and senior leaders to understand talent needs and align recruitment strategies.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines for immediate and future roles across corporate, technical, manufacturing, and leadership functions.
- Ensure recruitment practices comply with Canadian employment legislation, accommodation requirements, and VW governance standards.
Candidate Experience & Employer Brand
- Represent VGCA at hiring events, career fairs, campus initiatives, and industry functions.
- Deliver high‑quality candidate experiences through timely communication and professional engagement aligned with VW values.
- Promote Volkswagen Group Canada’s employer brand across sourcing channels, networks, and recruitment interactions.
Data, Systems & Process Excellence
- Maintain accurate recruitment data and leverage ATS tools (e.g., SuccessFactors) for candidate management and reporting.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process enhancements and contributing to a strong, analytical, process‑driven culture.
- Track recruitment metrics such as time‑to‑fill, pipeline strength, and diversity benchmarks to inform decision‑making.
Onboarding & Pre‑Boarding Support
- Ensure smooth transitions from candidate acceptance to onboarding by coordinating logistics, documentation, and communication.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues on relocation needs, new‑hire set‑ups, and preparation of onboarding materials.
External Partnerships
- Manage relationships with recruitment agencies, search firms, and other talent‑sourcing partners.
Qualification requirements
Education
- Required: Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Desired: Bachelor’s degree; CHRP, RPR, CTMP, or CTEP certification considered an asset.
Experience
- 5+ years in full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience recruiting for professional, technical, IT, manufacturing, or automotive-related roles.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated full‑cycle recruitment expertise, including strong competency‑based interviewing and effective talent sourcing and employer‑branding capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to manage confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities, with strong attention to detail and demonstrated capacity to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Microsoft Office 365, and a willingness to learn additional HR technologies.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, process‑oriented environment with strong analytical thinking.

- Familiarity with HR processes, documentation, or intranet platforms.
