Job Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic and operational advisor to designated business units, delivering high-impact HR solutions that foster a high-performance, employee-centric culture. With deep knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and hands-on experience in SuccessFactors, the HRBP drives initiatives in talent management, employee relations, performance development, and organizational effectiveness. This role is pivotal in ensuring HR operational excellence and aligning people strategies with business goals.

 

This role is classified as hybrid 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to drive employee engagement, development, and retention strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance on performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
  • Lead investigations and manage complex employee matters in collaboration with Legal and HR leadership.
  • Administer and support leave management, disability accommodations, and return-to-work programs.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to ensure timely and inclusive hiring practices.
  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless employee experience.
  • Advise on compensation, job evaluations, and pay equity in partnership with Total Rewards.
  • Champion employee satisfaction initiatives and support action planning based on survey results.
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, policy interpretation, and employee support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
  • Support HR projects related to training, branding, and organizational development.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: College Diploma in Human Resources or related field
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration
  • CHRP designation or working towards certification is an asset

 Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive HR experience in Ontario, with a strong generalist background
  • Proven experience with SAP SuccessFactors (e.g., performance management, employee data, reporting)
  • Strong competency of occupational health and safety legislation and compliance requirements

Consults and supports business leadership on strategic HR topics, defines and drives the strategic people agenda of the business / function and manages the talent process strategically and in selected events also transactionally.
